# Attach a node to the school structure

POST https://ssuccessv2.com/app/api/v2/school/settings/structure/{yearId}/nodes
Content-Type: application/json

Creates a department or grade node under an existing academic-year structure node and returns the refreshed tree.

## Authentication

- `Authorization` header (bearer token, required) — The signed-in SchoolSet user token sent by the frontend.

## Request

### Path parameters

- `yearId` (integer, required) — Academic year receiving the node.

### Body (application/json)

This endpoint expects an object.

- `nodeable_type` (enum, required)
  - Allowed values: `SchoolDepartment`, `SchoolGrade`
- `nodeable_id` (integer, required)
- `parent_node_id` (integer, required)

### 200

The node was attached and the refreshed school structure tree was returned.
